That means your prospective roofing contractor should at least hold a $300,000 combined single limit general insurance liability policy.
If a roofer is hesitant over the phone when you ask this question, it may be a red flag, but there’s a possibility that the roofer isn’t lying. Don’t rule the company out just yet, and ask for a copy of the insurance liability policy via email.
Who Will Be in Charge of the Project Onsite
If you’re hiring a reputable roofing contractor, there’s a good chance the person may have more than one roofing project going on in one day. In fact, many larger roofing companies have a “project manager” whose sole focus is to make sure your roof is being installed in accordance with both local laws and manufacturer guidelines. Don’t agree to having any work done without a project manager even if you were told that the onsite roofers are experienced enough that they don’t need supervision.
